Number Challenges

Medium number challenges mix operations and force you to test structure, not intuition. A sequence might alternate between multiplication and subtraction, or combine index-based rules with digit behavior. This is where many players jump to an answer too quickly and miss a quieter constraint in the middle terms.

Build a short checklist: differences, ratios, parity, and digit sum. Run through it in that order before committing. If a puzzle gives a grid or grouped numbers, compare rows and columns independently. You are often looking for conservation rules such as fixed totals, mirrored gaps, or repeated modular residues.

Medium is also a great place to try Timed Trial mode. The timer encourages disciplined pattern testing rather than random guesses. If you get stuck, use one hint and then restart the reasoning from scratch. That habit builds the skill needed for hard math puzzles and expert number theory sets.

You will also benefit from writing tiny labels above each term like d1, d2 for first differences or r3, r5 for remainders. This sounds tedious, but it keeps your thinking clear when two candidate rules both seem plausible. The more explicit your notes are, the less likely you are to chase a false pattern for ten minutes.
