Math Riddles

Medium riddles ask you to set up equations. A father is three times his son's age, in twelve years he'll be twice as old — that sort of thing. The math itself is basic algebra, but translating the English into equations is where most people get stuck.

You'll also see percentages, rate problems, and sequences. The trick with sequences is to look at the differences between terms, not the terms themselves. If the differences change, look at the differences of the differences. Patterns usually show up within two layers.

Some of these have multiple-choice answers. Don't be ashamed to plug the answers back in and check. Working backwards is a perfectly valid strategy, and on timed mode it's often the fastest one.
