How to Play Mazes

Navigate from the start (S) to the end (E) by tracing a path through the passages.

Desktop: Click adjacent cells to extend your path. Use arrow keys for quick navigation. Press Backspace to undo.

Mobile: Tap adjacent cells to move. Tap a cell already on your path to retract to that point.

Hints: Press H or use the Hint button to reveal the next few cells on the solution path (3 hints available in this mode).

Reveal the solution?

This will show the complete solution path. The puzzle will be marked as "solved with reveal" rather than self-solved.

About Einstein mazes

The hardest maze puzzles on ThePuzzleLabs. Einstein mazes use 40×40 to 50×50 grids generated with Kruskal's algorithm, which produces a completely uniform, unpredictable structure with no directional bias. The solution path is 250+ steps, and dead-end density exceeds 55%.

Kruskal-generated mazes feel fundamentally different from the easier levels. There is no visible pattern — no long corridors, no predictable structure. Every junction looks equally plausible in every direction. This makes heuristics like "aim for the exit" almost useless.

The most effective approach is dead-end filling. Before you start moving, scan the visible area for obvious dead ends — cells with only one entrance. Mentally block these off. The remaining cells form a sparser graph where the solution path becomes more visible. Combine this with sectoring (divide the grid into regions and find connecting passages) for the best results.

Start and end positions are placed at the two cells with the maximum shortest-path distance between them. This guarantees you traverse as much of the maze as possible. There is no shortcut. Take your time, use the hints if needed, and work through it section by section.
