About Einstein crosswords

The largest crossword grid we offer. 13×13, expert-level vocabulary, entries up to 10 letters, and clues that assume familiarity with crossword conventions. These puzzles are for people who find standard crosswords too quick and want something that demands sustained concentration.

Long entries are both a challenge and an advantage. They are harder to solve from the clue alone, but each confirmed letter feeds into multiple crossings. A single 8-letter solve can unlock four or five intersecting entries. Focus on medium-length entries first to build a scaffold, then use the accumulated crossings to crack the long ones.

Expect 15–25 minutes per puzzle. The hint system is still available — three progressive hints per puzzle in Classic and Timed Trial modes. See the full strategy guide for techniques that help at this level.
