Star Battle
Expert (10×10, 2★)About expert Star Battle (10×10, 2★)
Expert Star Battle uses a 10×10 grid with 2 stars per row, column, and region. That doubles the stars from the hard level: 20 stars instead of 10. The adjacency constraint now interacts with itself: your first star in a region blocks cells that might be needed for the second. The reasoning chains become significantly longer.
Within each region, enumerate the valid pairs of cells that can hold two non-adjacent stars. Some regions have only 2 or 3 valid configurations. Cross-reference those configurations with row and column constraints to eliminate impossible placements. When a region has been narrowed to one configuration, place both stars and propagate.
Expert puzzles require patience and systematic tracking. Mark eliminated cells diligently. Use the star count indicators to spot rows or columns approaching their quota. If you find yourself stuck, look for confinement patterns: regions whose stars must be in specific rows or columns. For the ultimate challenge, try einstein.
